Reaction to Peer Review

The peer reviewing is very helpful to me because it directs my attention to grammar mistakes that I usually overlook or have no knowledge of. Since my English is pieced together throughout my four years here, there are a lot of grammar points that I mixed up. And I never have any opportunities to learn the "right way". My peers point out the wrong usage of a word and weird sentence structure, and make my writing more coherent and concise.
Certainly, this peer reviewing benefits me far more than grammar points: it also lends me a different perspective. I was able to look into other's work and understand their approach to the question. And usually it is eye-opening. I am surprised and intrigued by some of the points people mentioned. Someone refutes both Davidson and Johnson's argument and comes out with a new proposal for the education. That approach screams to me about the complexity of the topic and how it's not just a simple yes or no question. I need to evaluate and think critically, putting my own interpretation into the essay. Also, the rhetorical technique my peer used for her argument is also instructional to me, because a successful argument needs to consider the audience’s expectation, commonplace and counterargument. So one really needs to craft the argument carefully to achieve the rhetoric purpose. My peer includes compromiser to moderate the argument and takes the middle ground. The argument technique makes the essay very powerful and far more persuasive.
