Peer Review Reaction

I thoroughly enjoyed the peer-review assignment. Not only did I gain new perspectives and ideas for my paper, I also my classmates in a new light. I have not had the chance to do peer-review often, so when I do, I always enjoy the opportunity. I learned much about the classmates I reviewed and understood their unique styles of writing. I generally enjoy reading other people’s works and commenting on them, so this has made me excited for the future opportunities of peer editing the we may have.

The peer-review comments I received were quite helpful. It would have nice if we received some extra time for reviewing, as my reviews seemed a little rushed and I rushed one of mine, but this is obviously not possible given the limited class time. Nevertheless, the comments have led me to notice some issues with my draft and multiple things I can improve on it. I like the fact that we had two peer reviewers as opposed to one, since I find it more helpful to receive multiple perspectives on my paper, even though they may have been rushed, as opposed to one single but extensive review. I found this process extremely useful and hope we do peer review on our future papers.
