Research Process

So far the research process has been going well for me particularly because of the abundance of sources present on my chosen topic. One point that I need to be aware of though is that I should have a good balance of sources that support my argument as well as sufficient amount of sources that support the counterargument. This is important because acknowledging the current flaws in IP law and patent law in pharmaceutical industry specifically will help me strengthen my own argument by providing possible solutions/amendments to current IP legislation. I am also happy that I didn't limit myself to solely online sources as I have in the past because the books I checked from the library seem more comprehensive and thorough compared to the online articles I have looked at. I am surprised at the vast number of sources on this narrow topic because I thought there were not many sources that directly delve into IP in pharmaceutical industry, but now that I have done some thorough research I realize just how huge the topic is. This may require that I further narrow my guiding and research question down in order to thoroughly answer my question and support my claim. I have yet to finish reading all my sources, particularly the book source, to get a better idea of possible solutions to current IP law loopholes and problems. Additionally, analyzing more research done on this matter (I currently only have one research paper in my bibliography) to better support the claim that patents foster creativity and boost our country economically. Other than that, I still need to find ways to make the authors of my sources converse with one another and build off what each other says. Finding more research done on IP and its effect on the economy could help strengthen my paper, and finding possible solutions to current IP will help balance out the counterargument.
