The
research process so far is stressful. I have in mind exactly what I want to
write about but it appears my focus is never narrow enough. The library surprised
me because it actually had a modern book relevant to my topic. The library also
surprised me by how big it actually is (I got lost). I’m still not sure if my
research question is as narrow as it is supposed to be, but now I have to start
figuring out how all of my supporting sources are related. I also still have to
organize how my paper will be structured and do more research to possibly find
more, better articles to support my claim. I do not really know how the paper
is supposed to be, since essentially my whole life I have been trained to write
pro and con papers. I have a vague vision of the type of source-combining
layout that is expected, but I am not sure if I currently am set up to
efficiently do that. I am going to essentially keep working on the connections I
can make and fine-tune the claim I am making within my research question about
social media. I originally put too many sources and examples in my research
proposal because I guess I figured 8-10 pages is longer than it truly is. To
me, 8-10 pages is intimidating and I wanted to make sure that I had enough to talk
about within that range. However, it seems now that I am set up to go in depth
on only a few topics in that amount of pages.
