Throughout the semester, I learned how to formulate my
argument in a clear, progressive, and logical way. One of the most effective
ways for me to develop my argument was by using a concept map so that I know
exactly how each of my ideas connect with one another, and how I should
progress between them in my paper. Furthermore, I now have a better
understanding of what to look for in essays and which quotes and ideas I can
use to back up my arguments. Before this class, I struggled with finding a way
to phrase my ideas into coherent sentences. After this class, probably just
through the rigorous amount of writings and materials required for this class,
I have a better understanding now of how to structure my sentences and
structure my thoughts so that I can rely them to other people in sentences that
easily make sense to other people. I have also begun to think more conceptually
instead of literally, something I could thank both this class and just living
on college for introducing me to. My views are larger and more connecting. I
instinctually start making connections between independent ideas to find
underlying similarities that put them all under the same umbrella. These sort
of connections further help me support arguments that I make, as I have a pool
of experiences, stories, and data to support of refute what I want to argue.
Overall, this course has helped me develop myself a whole human being.
